Charan Shetty suicide: Hebri govt college students protest, demand lecturers arrest

Udupi: Students of Government First Grade College, Hebri protested in front of the college on Friday, March 6 against the suicide of the college student Charan Shetty. They were demanding the arrest of lecturers who allegedly abetted Charan’s suicide.
Charan Shetty had committed suicide after supposedly being humiliated by the lecturers and principal in front of his parents and classmates. He had created a ruckus during the College Day celebrations in the campus for which the lecturers had called his parents.
The protesting students have filed a case with the police against four, including the principal.
