Bajpe: A male cheetah’s dead body has been found in a putrefied state at Ekkaru Agariguttu forest on Monday afternoon. It is suspected that the cheetah might have died 5-6 days ago.

Earlier too, there have been instances of cheetah prowling in Ekkaru region. It has been assumed that the death may be a natural one. The age of the cheetah is estimated to be around 9-10 years old.

After the post mortem, the carcass was set on fire at the very location. Forest Department Mangaluru Zone Ranger Shridhar, Forester Jayaraj and Ekkaru gram Panchayat president Shuresh Shetty were present at the location.
