Chitradurga: A drone of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) crashed near the test base of the Defence Organisation in the district on a farmland at Doregalahatti on Wednesday.
The seven-foot drone was fitted to a light plane for a routine exercise. It crashed on a ragi farm which is owned by Bangarappa near the DRDO base. A team of DRDO scientist rushed to the spot and began to inspect the crashed drone.
A DRDO scientist said that the DRDO technicians had lost control of the drone and hence it crashed three kilometres away from the base.
