Bengaluru: Choas ensued at the press meet called by national-level farmers’ leaders Rakesh Tikait and Yudhvir Singh at Gandhi Bhavana here on Monday, as a group of miscreants assaulted the leaders midway and threw black ink on them.
The press conference had been called for Tikait to issue clarifications on the allegations that he had received kickbacks from Kodihalli Chandrashekhar to stop the farmers’ agitations against the farm laws.
Suddenly, a man sitting behind the press persons went up to the stage and assaulted Yudhvir Singh with a microphone. A group soon went towards the stage and hurled black ink at the farmer leaders.
Some among them chanted “Modi Modi”.
The farmers present on the occasion caught hold of the miscreants, and thrashed them, before handing them over to the police.
