CID takes over the probe in Vikram investment fraud

Bengaluru: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has assumed control over the probe into Bengaluru-based wealth management firm Vikram Investment, which has been accused for cheating 260 individuals to the tune of Rs 300 crore.
Despite the fact that 260 complaints have been enrolled, reports seized so far uncover that more than 1,400 speculators have been duped, said the police.
Executive General and Inspector-General of Police Neelamani N. Raju had issued directon Wednesday to the city police to hand over the probe to the CID.
CID Director General of Police Praveen Sood held a day-long pre-investigation meet. A few south division cops, including Deputy Commissioner of Police S D Sharanappa, advised the CID on their investigation for the case. All documents and other material relating to the case were deposited at the CID headquarters in Carlton House, Palace Road, on Tuesday.
