Clashes erupt between two groups over car, two-wheeler collision

Bantwal: In an incident of road rage that took place at Mani last night, clashes erupted between two groups following a collision between a car and an Activa scooter.

The incident took place on Monday, May 13 night when a Swift car plying on Mangaluru-Bengaluru highway collided with an Activa scooter, moving towards Farangipete from Perne near a bar at Mani.

The two-wheeler rider, who was accompanied by his friends on other bikes got into a confrontation with the vehicle owner over the accident, which soon took an ugly turn with the group damaging Swift car. One person sustained injuries in the incident and was admitted to a hospital in Puttur.

Vittal police rushed to the spot and brought situation under control.

Though it is learnt that both groups belong to the same community, the police have heightened security to prevent any untoward incident
