CM plans to grant holiday on 3rd Saturday

Bengaluru: The State government is planning to declare October 20 the third Saturday as a holiday this time. However, this arrangement will be only for the month of October. 

Since Ayudha Pooja and Vijayadashami are on October 18 and 19 respectively and October 21 is a Sunday. Many employees tend to take the long weekend off hence the government is planning to make October 20 will as a holiday and employees will be asked to work on second Saturday (October 13).

Chief Minister’s office claimed that the move is a result of the suggestion of CM H D Kumaraswamy. The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) is likely to issue official orders in a day or two, the sources added.
