CM Siddaramaiah inaugurates World’s largest solar plant

Tumakuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, at the inauguration ceremony of a power plant set up in Tumakuru on Thursday, said the mega solar power plant set up here was the largest solar power plant in the world and a pride of the state.
He was talking subsequent to introducing unit I of the power plant set up at Tirumani in Nagalamadike hobli of the taluk. The power plant, dedicated as the ‘Shakti Sthala,’ would help expel the retrogressive and drought-prone tag related with the taluk. It would open the conduits of prosperity for Pavagada, the Chief Minister said. The power plant would quicken monetary development here by attracting industries, Siddaramaiah said. The 600-MW unit I is a piece of the 2,000-MW condition environment friendly power plant proposed here.
In his discourse, Resource Minister D K Shivakumar said Karnataka produced the most elevated quantum of sunlight based power in the nation, at 3,628 MW. He said the state was presently confident in power generation, even with extreme difficulties.
