Compound wall collapses over a house near Konaje

Mangaluru: Due to heavy rains since the past few days, a huge compound wall has collapsed over a house at Dasaramoole near Konaje on the night of June 25^th. The house has sustained damage but all the six persons inside the house had a miraculous escape.

The house belongs to Nirmala and she was sleeping along with her children Vidya, Ramesh, nephew Putnanja and grandchildren, when the compound wall of their neighbour Devyanna Shetty collapsed with a loud crash. On hearing the sound, all the residents of the house made a quick escape out of the house. The roof of the house has collapsed and the walls have developed cracks.

The huge compound wall had been constructed a few years ago by Mr.Shetty. The collapsed wall has also caused damage to an electric pole in the vicinity. Officials have visited the spot.
