Hyderabad: Critically acclaimed actor and director Nishkant Kamat who is admitted to a private hospital is on ventilator support and his condition is very critical, filmmaker Milap Zaveri said on Monday, August 17.

The 50-year-old director was admitted to AIG Hospitals, Gachibowli in Hyderabad on July 31 with jaundice and abdominal distention. He was diagnosed with Chronic Liver Disease and other secondary infections.

Milap took to twitter and wrote on Monday, “Just spoke to someone who is with Nishikant in the hospital right now. He hasn’t passed away yet. Yes, he is very critical and fighting life and death. But he is still alive.”

Earlier, media reports claimed that the Drishyam Director passed away in the hospital and Milap had mourned for the same. However, he discussed with someone in the hospital and clarified that Kamat is on ventilator support and fighting.
