Bengaluru: More than 20 senior Congress Muslim leaders held a secret meeting , not long after the meeting of Congress Election Committee on the background of state Assembly elections hosts created strain in the Congress party.
K. Rehman Khan, who missed entry to the Rajya Sabha for the second term, Former union minister C K Jaffer Sharief, Ministers Roshan Baig, C M Ibrahim, Firoz Sait, Rizwan Arshad, U T Khader, Tanveer Sait, and numerous different MLAs, MPs and former ministers were present at the secret meeting.
As per the sources, Muslim leaders are despondent with AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, who is likewise the party’s state in-charge. “The community is confronting deficiency of political initiative,” the leaders are accepted to have told while pressing for post of either DCM or a similar position for any Muslim leader.
The party has chosen to straightforwardly talk these issues out to the party high-order and AICC President Rahul Gandhi. It has chosen to request least 25 seats for Muslim candidates and guarantee seats to Christian, Jain and other minority candidates in 5 constituency.
