Congress member fires pistol in air after garlanding Shivaji statue

Hubballi: Congress-nominated member of the Huballi- Dharwad Mahanagara Palike, Manjunath Kadam fired into the air from a pistol on occasion of Shivaji Jayanthi on Monday, after garlanding a statue of the Maratha king Shivaji.
Other Congress leaders were also present at the event. The leaders celebrated warrior King’s birthday by garlanding Shivaji’s statue at the Shivaji circle in the district. Kadam, soon after garlanding the statue, took a pistol which was handed over to him by an associate and fired two rounds into the air shouting slogans like “Shivaji Maharaj Ki Jai”. A person standing next to kadam was seen with a sword in his hands.
No complaints have been filed by the police post the incident. This incident took place in Sharahara police limits.
