Bengaluru: KPCC president DK Shivakumar said that the party is discussing putting up a candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections and would take a decision after consultations with the national leadership of Congress.
Speaking in a news conference at his Sadashivanagar residence here, he said that we don’t have the number we need. Adding that after speaking with national-level leaders and considering other factors we will announce our decision soon.
Speaking on the issue of a possible alliance between BJP and JD(S) he said, “We will not say anything on that now. We would talk about it after seeing the political developments and results.”
Shivakumar further said that a committee headed by Eshwara Khandre and Satish Jarkiholi has been constituted for Belgaum Lok Sabha by-election and another committee headed by MB Patil has been constituted for Basavakalyan and Maski assembly constituency by-elections. Candidates will be decided after the reports are submitted by the committees.
