Bengaluru: Congress party high command signalled green for the entry of 7 rebel JDS MLAs to join its party unit in Karnataka. In a meeting held with AICC vice president, Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader, chief minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday night in Bengaluru, the party reportedly asked all 7 MLAs to join Congress officially either in December or first week of January 2018. Congress leaders reportedly assured the 7 members that would be given ticket to contest in the next state assembly elections.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting Siddaramaiah said, the 7 JDS leaders in the presence of AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi have opted to join Congress. All 7 MLAs have huge public support at their respective constituencies and their entry to Congress would boost the strength of the party workers further in the state.
Speaking on JDS, chief minister said, the party is powerful in three to four districts in Karnataka. However, Congress party would defeat both JDS and BJP in the next state assembly elections as the both parties have lost trust of the people.
