Cops seize suspicious-looking car

Mangaluru: A car that was being used by a gang of robbers with fake number plate and signage of a central crime investigation agency had been found recently by the cops and on the evening of Saturday, Aug 17, the police found another vehicle bearing suspicious number plate.
The car bears Punjab registration number plate and the words, Government of India, were found written on its number plate. Apparently the car had a driver and another person.
In the backdrop of the high alert issued in the state, the police are undertaking elaborate checking of vehicles. Hence, the cops noticed the Punjab registered car which was moving around the city. on Friday and since the number plate appeared suspicious, the stopped the car for verification. Presently, the car was handed over to Barke police station for further investigation. The investigation is ongoing and no conclusions have been derived yet, inform the cops.
