New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE has proposed two options for the conduct of Class 12 board exams, keeping in mind the safety and security of the students and the teachers amid the pandemic.

A high-level meeting, chaired by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, was held earlier in the day to explore the discuss the conduct of exams that was postponed due to second wave of Covid 19.

Under the first option , all state boards will hold exams only for major/limited subjects as per the existing system, and second option, to conduct the exams in an objective format in 19 major subjects with only MCQs and short questions and curtailing the exam duration to 90-minute, instead of three hours.

Sources said that all states opted for the first option, except for Delhi which has voiced for the cancellation of the exams.
