COVID-19: K’taka registers 16 positive cases on Thursday, highest in single day

Bengaluru: Karnataka witnessed the highest number of registered COVID-19 positive cases in a single day with 16 cases while the total tally increased to 197 on Thursday, April 9.

Primary and Secondary Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar said, “16 new cases have been witnessed since Wednesday. The task force on Thursday decided to test all secondary COVID-19 contacts as well.”

191 cases were reported till Thursday noon and six more cases registered in the next five hours.

The Addition Chief Secretory of Health and Family Welfare Department, Jawaid Akhtar has announced 13 new hospitals across the state for COVID-19 cases.

With this, there will be 5,665 isolation beds, 801 ICU beds and 372 ventilators at disposal to fight COVID-19 in State.
