Covid-19: Over 600 discharges in DK today, 246 new cases reported

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday reported 246 new cases of coronavirus taking the tally of confirmed cases in the district to 8,071.

Notably, the day also saw as many as 641 persons getting discharged after recovery. This includes 429 patients who were in home isolation.

Out of the total confirmed cases, 5,873 persons have been discharged till date while 1,948 cases are active. The death toll rose to 250 with further six fatalities today.

Mangaluru accounted for 150 of today’s positive cases followed by Bantwal 47 cases, Puttur 16 cases, Belthangady 15 and Sullia 7. 11 cases were reported from other districts.

The new cases include 103 ILI cases, 36 primary contacts of those infected earlier, 10 SARI cases. Source of infection for 97 persons is being probed.
