Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra KV has said that COVID-19 testing has been increased in the district and there was no increase in the infection’s positivity rate.

Speaking during the inauguration of a mobile vaccination centre, he said that people of the district need not worry about the COVID-19 positivity rate.

“About eleven thousand RT-PCR tests were conducted on Friday. Thus more cases were reported. But there has been no increase in the positivity rate. The positivity rate was 18 per cent last week and has now dropped to 9 per cent,” he said.

He said that the mobile vaccine centre will be used for areas where more than 10 people are bed-ridden due to an illness or are endo-infected.

“A video conference will be held today with elected representatives and the chief minister on the Unlock process,” he said.
