CRPF Jawan from Kittur Martyred in Srinagar

Kittur/Srinagar: A brave CRPF jawan from Karnataka martyred in a clash with militants in Srinagar of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday late night. The martyred jawan has been identified as Basappa Hanumanthappa Bhajanthri (50) from Bilura village located at Kittur taluk in Belagavi district of Karnataka state. Basappa was martyred when a group of militants attacked a CRPF vehicle near Patan Chowk. 

Basappa had been serving the country for the last 19 years and he was just 12 months away from his retirement. The jawan is survived by his parents, wife, a son, two daughters and three brothers. Waves of grief have emerged at jawan’s native village as news from CRPF sources confirmed the death brave jawan.
