Kundapur: “We have been keeping close watch on Gangolli port and nearby areas. CCTVs have been installed in strategic spots. There is no need to be panicky,” said inspector of Coastal Security Police Force (CSPF) Shivaprakash speaking at a coordination meeting of fisheries officials, officials of the department of ports, Gangolli police and fishermen was held at Gangolli on Monday May 27.
The coordination meeting was held in the backdrop of central intelligence information those ISIS terrorists have left Sri Lanka for Lakshadweep.
Speaking at the meeting, Shivaprakash asked the gathered to to be vigilant in view of the intelligence information received from the intelligence department and added that all departments must cooperate with the police. He also particularly requested the fishermen convey any information to the police regarding suspicious activities on the sea.
The meeting was attended by the assistant director of fisheries Anjana Devi, official of ports and fisheries department Antony Felista, joint secretary of Country Boat Fishermen’s Association Nagappayya Patel, Augustine Rodrigues of Coastal Security Police Force, Gururaj, Raghavendra and Surendra.
