Current MP, very irresponsible: D K Shivakumar

Mangaluru: “Human resources, corporate world, health sector, port and airport play a major role in the development of Karnataka. But the current MP of Dakshina Karnataka is not aware of this. He looks very irresponsible. All want to see his report card. He has to reveal details of projects which he brought to the district and his contribution to the district during his tenure. Youths of the city are migrating to neighbouring cities and abroad for jobs. What is the contribution of MPs here in the last 28 years?” questioned veteran Congress leader and water resources minister D K Shivakumar on Monday April 15.

“As an MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel did not show any interest to stop Vijaya Bank from being merged with other banks. At least he could have tried to take a delegation of MPs of Karnataka to the finance ministry,” he pointed.

“The state government is trying to save many temples of the district with funds and various facilities. We passed many projects for tourism industry of the district. But MP Nalin Kumar did not bring even a single rupee from the centre,” he alleged.

“The union government failed to fulfill promises made during the last elections. They said ‘Ache Din’ will come. But those ‘Ache Din’ never came. Farmers are suffering due to low prices on their crops. They have been completely neglected by the union government,” he said.

“After learning all the problems faced by the district, we gave the Lok Sabha ticket to Hanuman bhakt, Bunt boy and educated youth Mithun Rai. We gave him an opportunity to represent the educated people of the district. We are not interested to set fire to Mangaluru. We are focusing on development and harmony. So for the betterment of Mangaluru, I am seeking vote and support for Mithun Rai” said DKS.

“I request BJP workers and RSS members to keep aside their misunderstandings and support Mithun Rai. We all support the culture and thoughts for a United India. All respect Hindutva which is unique in the world. We worship the Indian flag which contains saffron, white and green. It unites all religions and thoughts,” he added.
