Mangaluru: A passenger from Dubai who was attempting to smuggle gold into the country was caught by the customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport on Wednesday October 9.
Gold weighing 487.110 grams was seized from the accused and is estimated to be worth Rs 18.21 lakh.
The accused in question has arrived from Dubai via Air India flight IX814 and has concealed the precious metal within his body.
