Mangaluru: First PU physical classes will be beginning from September 16 onward by following Covid guidelines.

Jayanna, deputy director in Dakshina Kannada district PU education department, said that the principals have been instructed to split the first and second PU students through the standard operating procedure and hold the classes in the afternoons.

He further added, “Kerala students can opt for online classes but if they choose to attend physical classes they need to bring negative RT-PCR test reports once in seven days. The same applies to teaching and non-teaching staff of the colleges.”

“Those who do not want to attend physical classes can also opt to continue to attend classes online, however, consent letters from the parents are compulsory” he explained.

The department has barred the holding of mass prayers, meetings, cultural and sports activities.

All the staff have to get themselves RT-PCR tested voluntarily once in 15 days.

This fact is included in the instructions issued to the principals.

Deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr Rajendra K V, stated that physical classes for the final year degree classes of Mangalore University will begin on September 17. He clarified that guidelines would be published on Wednesday.
