Dakshina Kannada reports biggest single-day spike 79 new Covid 19 cases

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada recorded its biggest single-day spike with 79 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, June 16 while Udupi district reported seven new cases.

75 Saudi returnees, including a two-year-old girl accounted for majority of cases in Dakshina Kannada while three are Maharashtra returnees. All cases reported in Udupi are Maharashtra returnees.

As on date, 370 confirmed cases of coronavirus has been reported in Dakshina Kannada district of which 145 people have recovered as per the health bulletin. Eight deaths have occurred so far in the district.

Out of the 1035 confirmed coronavirus cases in Udupi, 817 people have recovered and one death has occurred. Presently 147 cases are active in Udupi.
