
Dalit leaders enraged after three of accused in Bengre rape case secures bail

Mangaluru: After the court granted bail to three of the six people arrested in the case of raping a Dalit girl at Bengre beach, the Dalit leaders expressed extreme anger over the issue in the meeting held at the office of the police commissioner of the city on Sunday, February 3.
Speaking at the meeting Dalit leader Sadashiv Urwastore said that though the victim is still in the remand home, three of the six accused are out on bail and are roaming freely without any issues.
He further added that the release of the three accused has developed suspicions on the police that whether they have put the proper sections of IPC while registering the complaint in this case.
Replying to the Dalit leaders DCP Uma Prashant said that police department has no connetion with the bail granted to the accused because it was the decision of the court and they dont not have the right to question the court, he added
