Decision on DK lockdown after discussion with CM: Kota Srinivas

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District In-charge minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary has clarified that no decision has been taken on implementing a lockdown in the district.

A meeting with MP Nalin Kumar and district officials was held today at the Deputy Commissioner’s office to study the COVID-19 situation in the district. No decision on lockdown was taken at the meeting, Srinivas stated.

The minister further stated that he, MP Nalin and district officials would hold a video conference meeting with the Chief Minister on Monday, July 13 at 11 am to discuss the situation in the district. A decision will be taken after the meeting.

It has been noticed that the people of the district are implementing self-organised lockdown in many parts of the district. No decision will be taken that would disturb the people. Any decision on lockdown will be taken after the Chief Ministers’ advice at tomorrow’s meeting, Srinivas stated.
