Mangaluru: Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Friday said that the decision on setting up of National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Mangaluru will be taken soon after the discussion with the Centre.
Araga said, ” The terror activities are increasing in Mangaluru and NIA branch must be established for special attention on security in the region. I have instructed the police officers to keep an eye on the terrorists’ activities in the region.”
Talking about the celebratory firing during the BJP’s Jan Ashirwad Yaatra led by Union Minister Bhagwant Khuba, he said, ” An FIR in this regard has been filed. It is wrong to do celebratory firing in public. Although, people in Kodagu and other parts of the state follow a ritual of firing a single shot in the air during festivals, doing it in public is condemnable.”
