Belagavi/Dharwad: In an order, Dharwad bench of Karnataka High Court has rejected first information report (FIR) registered against 16 persons including movie producer, Managing Director of Sangolli Rayanna Co Operative Credit Society Anand Appugol on Friday.
The high court bench rejected the FIR registered and stated the police can’t file FIR without initial investigating into the case. The police reportedly failed to investigate the case properly and this resulted in a major setback to them, sources said.
Belagavi police earlier arrested Anand Appugol after complaints from the public that his cooperative society failed to return money to its depositors as assured. The cooperative society has been facing financial crunch and shut its 40 branches spread in Belagavi and nearby regions. Deposit worth Rs 300 crore needs to be returned to the depositors by Anand Appugol and his society as assured.
