Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President DK Shivakumar on Tuesday, April 14 said that he was disappointed after listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation.

Addressing presspersons he said, “I support Modi’s decision to extend lockdown till May 3. But was disappointed after listing to his speech because his address lacked substance as he did not suggest ways to strengthen the nation.”

“I thought he would have announced a package on behalf of the central government to help the farmer, poor, those working in the unorganized sector who are the worst hit due to the lockdown. There was no mention of it anywhere,” he added

Modi on Tuesday announced that the lockdown across the country will be extended till May 3, saying the measure has produced a significant outcome in containing the infection.
