DK, Udupi: PMSYM scheme launched

Mangaluru/Udupi: The “Prime Minister Shram Yogi Mana-Dhan” scheme which is a pension scheme for the workers of the unorganized sector was started in the district on Tuesday March 5th.
The scheme was started in DK by MLA Vedavyas Kamath at a district level programme held at the Mangaluru regional office of the workers future fund scheme, while the Regional Future Fund commissioner Dr Ajay Singh Chowdhary started the scheme in Udupi at a district level programme at the deputy commissioner’s office complex in Udupi district.
Security for unorganised sector workers
Speaking on the occasion MLA Kamath said, PMSYM is an important scheme. The scheme is for workers of 18 to 40 years of age working up to a monthly income of Rs 15,000. After reaching 60 years of age they will get a monthly pension of Rs 3,000, he informed.
Labour insurance scheme Mangaluru subdivision director S Shivaramkrishnan and assistant labour commissioner K B Nagaraj spoke and said that the scheme is vital and everyone’s participation is required for its effective implementation.
