D.K.Rain: 2 dead, Rs. 20 crore loss, 560 houses damaged

Mangaluru: The torrential rains that hit Dakshina Kannada district on Tuesday has claimed the life of 2 people and caused damages amounting to 20 crore rupees, said deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil.
On Wednesday, 5 lakh rupees compensation has been provided to the families of the two deceased women. Altogether 560 houses have sustained damage. Houses that have been completely damaged will be provided with partial compensation within two days and other houses which have sustained damages will receive compensation after investigation.
