Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner Manjunath Prasad has urged pourakarmikas to not collect unsegregated waste from households in the city.
Do not collect unsegregated waste from any households, but do not forget to report such households to BBMP marshals. The marshals will then counsel such households on waste segregation,” said Manjunath Prasad.
Households that do not segregate waste even after repeated counseling will be levied a fine amounting to Rs. 1000 per day, while individuals found littering in public places may be arrested.
