Mangaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai came down heavily on Dakshina Kannada DC Rajendra KV over shortage of masks and gloves.

He was speaking during a Covid-19 progress review meeting held at the city’s Zilla Panchayat office.

“Don’t you have common sense? How can you overlook the health of the employees by not providing them masks and other safety equipments? How are they supposed to work amid the pandemic? Use SDRF funds and immediately buy necessary safety equipments for the staff,” Bommai said in a strict tone.

Also, taking the District Health officer to task, CM said, ” Were you sleeping? Why didn’t you inform the concerned regarding the shortage of masks?”
