Saptak’s wife had passed away some years back and he was residing at Mantri Paradise apartment on Bannerghatta Road with his 15-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son.

Due to his alcohol addiction, Saptak would often harass his children over petty issues, the police informed.

On the day of the incident, an inebriated Saptak began playing the keyboard late night. A verbal spat ensued between Saptak and his daughter when the latter asked him to stop playing keyboard.
