New Delhi: Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended prohibition on conduct of exit polls in two constituencies of Uttar Pradesh and Uttara Khand until 05.30 PM of March 09, 2017, according to a notification released on Saturday.

In view of the above, the commission has extended the period of prohibition of conduct of exit polls up to 5.30 PM of March 09, 2017.

The commission had earlier notified the period of prohibition on conduct of exit polls for on-going state legislative assembly elections in Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh in the vide notification dated January 27, 2017. The period notified was from 07.00 AM of February 04 to 17.30 hours of March 8, 2017.
