Eiffel Tower evacuated over bomb threat

Paris: The Eiffel Tower has been evacuated and armed police are standing guard after police received an anonymous phone call, claiming there was a bomb at the monument.

Paris police have cordoned off a large area with bomb disposal teams searching the site around the landmark in the French capital.

They also urged people to stay away while officers inspected the area to find out if the threat was legitimate.

Roads leading to the Eiffel Tower have been closed as per the sources.
