Elderly couple killed in road accident involving Pejawar Swamiji’s convoy

Chikkaballapur/Udupi: In a tragic incident an elderly couple from Chikkaballapur district were killed while four other persons sustained injuries in a road mishap involving Pejawar Swamiji’s motorcade on Sunday morning, November 18.

Ramakrishnaiah, 75, and his wife Sarvalochana, 70, are the deceased persons.

Ramakrishnaiah along with his wife and daughter-in-law Nalini, 55, was on his way towards Bengaluru to attend a private function when their car rammed into the police escort vehicle, which was part of Pejawar Seer’s motorcade at Karapanahalli gate in Hosakote. Nalini, car driver Nagesh suffered critical injuries in the mishap. Apart from them highway patrolling police vehicle driver and AS Shambaiah too suffered injuries in the accident.

The motorcade was on the way to Kanwa Sammelana, to be attended by the Seer in Konakuntlu in Chintamani. According to locals, immediately after the mishap, Swamiji rushed to the spot and condoled the death of the couple.
