Elderly killed after being knocked down by bike

Puttur: A 69-year-old man was killed after being knocked down by a bike near Kammadi Mill on Mani-Mysuru highway on Friday, December 6 night.

The deceased has been identified as Lawrence D’Souza from Aryapu village.

Reckless driving on part of the biker, identified as Mithun is said to have caused the accident.

As per reports, Mithun’s bike swerved off the road and rammed into Lawrence who was standing some distance away from the highway. Lawrence sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. Mithun too suffered injuries in the mishap.

Puttur rural police filed a case in this regard.
