A prominent web news portal uploaded a news reporting that Government of India has launched beta version of a video conferencing app by the name of ‘Say Namaste’ and would soon launch the app. The report further claimed that “Say Namaste” is expected to launch this week for Android and iOS users.
However, the Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check team has clarified that neither the Government has launched any such app nor has it endorsed it. Also, people must not download any such app under the impression that it has approval of the Government of India.
Sources claim that, ‘Say Namaste’ is powered by ‘inscripts’, a private company, which is headquartered in Mumbai. Say Namaste is not an application, but an online application that can be accessed through a web browser
