Mysuru: Police have arrested seven accused in connection with Nandini ghee adulteration racket. The prime accused in the racket however continues to be at large.
The news of the arrest was confirmed by Superintendent of Police R Chetan during a press meet here on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police R Chetan said that there were suspicions of the supply of adulterated ghee to other states but the same would be ascertained after the arrest of the prime accused.
On December 16 last year, a criminal network peddling fake ghee by misusing KMF’s popular “Nandini Ghee” brand was unearthed during raids at a warehouse in Hosahundi village on the foothills of Chamundi Hills near the city. Police had seized 10 tonnes of adulterated ghee at the time.
