Falling tree kills two on bike

Karwar: Two people were killed on the spot when an uprooted tree fell on the bike they were riding on Saturday, July 14 on National Highway 63 in Yellapur taluk. 

The deceased are Subhash (50) and Nagaraj (25), the two residents of Ankola. 

The duo were heading out from Yellapur to Ankola when the tree that got uprooted because of the winds along with heavy rainfall fell on their bike, killing them on the spot. 

Yellapur police staff and Tahsildar DG Hegde went to the spot. The dead bodies were sent to district hospital mortuary. A case has been filed at Yellapur police station.
