Famous Tulu writer Srinivas Devendra Pejathaya passes away at 88

Udupi: Famous Tulu writer and retired Syndicate Bank manager, S. Devendra Pejathaya, died on Sunday due to a brief illness. He was 88.
After retirement from the Syndicate bank, Pejathaya wrote many books in Kannada and Tulu languages and won many awards from renowned organizations of the state.
Famous litterateurs and scholars had appreciated Pejathaya for his translation of Srilakshmi Shobhane song, which was written by Sri Vadiraja in the 15th century AD. He has also written a variety of stories, poems and devotional songs in Kannada too.
He also contributed in various forms for the progress of Udupi Krishna Math and Ashta Maths.
Pejathaya is survived by wife Ratnamma, son Vadiraj and three daughters Veena Sharath, Vidya Suresh and Viveka Ramgopal and hundreds of admirers.
