Farmer loan wavier in commercial banks

Mangaluru: The state government has provided a few guidelines to implement its plan to wavier farmer loans in commercial banks.

Rules

To get register under the scheme, the farmer who have taken farm loan by Dec 31st must visit the commercial bank from where they have availed the loan and get their names registered from Dec 13th to 28th. They must compulsorily submit copies of their Aadhar Card, Ration Card and survey number of the loan availed.

There is scope for the registration of at least 40 farmers per branch of a bank where along with time and date, a token also is provided. Later, according to their scheduled date, the farmer should visit the particular branch of the bank equipped with self-attested copies of Aadhar Card, Ration Card and provide the land survey number.

If there is a confusion or doubt, one can get them resolved through the helpline number 9980085973, stated a press release from the office of Dakshina Kannada (DK) Deputy Commissioner.

Who are eligible?

The benefit of this scheme can be availed by those to whom a farm loan has been sanctioned since April 1st 2009 and are yet to repay farm loan by Dec 31st 2017.

Only those farmers who have taken a personal farm loan are eligible. A family is eligible to avail a maximum farm loan wavier of Rs 2 lakh. For this, ration cards procured before July 5 2018 will be considered.

Farmer who pay yearly income tax and those working in state, central government, semi-government, government aided institutions and public owned institutions are not eligible for the scheme. Retired employees who get a pension of Rs 15,000 from state or Central government are not eligible for this scheme. This limit is not applicable for former defense personnel.

The beneficiaries of farm loan wavier from government banks are also not eligible for farm loan wavier from commercial banks.
