Fire at garbage unit in Ujire

Belthangady: The old garbage unit at ichila near Ujire caught fire on Sunday causing much fear in the vicinity.
The fire is assumed to have caught at around 6 pm in the evening; however it was found out late. By the time the fire personnel from Belthangady arrived, the fire had already grown and did pose a challenge to douse it.
The fire spread around to an area of 2 acres. Since the fire engine being used to douse the fire ran out of its water at around 7:30 pm late in the evening, the operation was hindered. Water facility was arranged through the assistance of the locals and the hence, the operation was continued.
Panchayat officials and police visited the location.
Act by miscreants? Chemical reasons?
The old garbage unit is located in a desolate area and hence there is a suspicion that the fire might have been set by miscreants. On the other hand, there is a possibility that due to the intense heat, the fire could have been due to a reaction between the various chemicals in the garbage, inform officials of the fire department.
