Five drowning students rescued by surfers at Tannirbavi beach

Mangaluru: Five students studying in Moodbidri escaped from drowning at the Tannirbavi beach when alert surfing trainers spotted the students drowning and rescued them on Sunday.
It is said that while the students were swimming in the sea near Fatima church on Tannirbavi beach, they were pulled into deep waters by the strong current.
Two of the students were rescued by national swimmers Sanket Bengre and Shilpa Bengre. But three other students were in danger.
Hearing their cries for help, surfing trainers Tejas Naik and his accomplices immediately rushed into the water to rescue them.
