Bengaluru: Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Monday said that the coalition government will take a floor test on Thursday, July 18.
Earlier in the day, Siddaramaiah attended the panel meeting to decide the agenda of the state assembly.
On July 12, chief minister Kumaraswamy announced he would seek a trust vote to end the ‘confusion’ caused by resignations of rebel MLAs while asserting he was “ready for everything”.
The Congress-JDS government is battling for survival after 16 lawmakers of the ruling coalition resigned from the assembly. Speaker Ramesh Kumar has yet to accept the resignations.
This morning, rival BJP issued a notice to Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar to move a no-confidence motion against the government.
