Former IPS officer R P Sharma dead

Bengaluru: IPS officer, R P Sharma who retired as director-general of police a month ago, died at a private hospital in Bengaluru after a brief period of illness. He was 60.

In September 2020, he was hospitalized after suffering a gunshot injury from his own weapon while cleaning a revolver.

Sharma last served as chairman of Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation.

He is survived by wife and two children.
