Bengaluru: Four leaders of other parties joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday.

JD(S) pioneer Mallikarjun Khuba, who quit as a MLA from Basavakalyan on Tuesday, the former legislator Nagappa Saloni, the former Union Minister Basavaraj Patil Anwari, and Basavaraj Patil Yatnal, independent MLC, joined the BJP at the party State home office in Bengaluru. BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa invited them.

It is learnt that these leaders would supposedly be considered to challenge the coming Assembly polls. This has unsettled the quills of supporters of other ticket aspirants in Basavakalyan, represented  by Khuba, and Vijayapura district of Yatnal.

These spots saw agitations as the result of these leaders joining by some local BJP workers. Khuba tried to make light of the protest by keeping up that such minor feelings of hatred are normal in legislative issues. In any case, Yeddyurappa said the BJP’s quality had expanded because of their entrance and included that more  leaders are expected to join the BJP in the coming days.

Yeddyurappa told the media that he would visit New Delhi to hold discussions with national president Amit Shah on the final list of candidates.
