4 Mumbai returnees test COVID-19 +ve in Raichur; K’taka tally rises to 1462

Bengaluru: Four cases of coronavirus were reported from Raichur, taking the total number of infections in the state to 1,462, the health department said on Wednesday.

With 41 deaths and 556 discharges, there are 864 active coronavirus cases in the state, the department said in its evening update.

The fresh cases reported from noon till now are all returnees from Mumbai.

Of the 67 cases reported in the last 24 hours, Hassan accounted for 21, Bidar – 10, Mandya – 8, Kalburagi – 7, Udupi – 6, Tumakuru and Bengaluru Urban – 4, Raichur 4 and one each from Yadgir, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada districts.

A 43-year-old male, resident of Bengaluru Urban who was admitted on May 18 died today at the designated hospital. The patient had a history of hypertension and myocarditis.
